The following Poem was found by our Grandaughter Melody just before Thanksgiving 1997. She called me on the phone and was crying and told me what she had found and if she could read it to me. I told her yes and she read the poem. Yes, the poem brought tears to my eyes too.  The Author is unknown. Is the Author really unknown?? Who really did write this beautiful Poem? I think my wife Carol wrote it to be found by a loved one.
You decide who wrote it.                                                                             Thank You Melody
        I Am Free

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found peace at the close of day.

If my parting has left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved ones touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me
God wanted me now, He set me Free.

The next poem was found by our Daughter Vicky. I went to her house one day in January 1998 and Vicky said, Dad look what I found and showed me the poem. I read it and yes, I  got wet eyes again.                                      Thank You Vicky
             Come To Me

              God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be
So He closed his arms around you,
        And whispered, "Come To Me".

You didn't deserve what you went through,
And so he gave you rest
        God's garden must be beautiful,
               He only takes the best.

And when We saw you sleeping,
So peaceul and free of pain,
We could not wish you back,
                 To suffer that again,
                                            Author Unknown
The Sunset Header Pic was created by me from a photograph that was taken January 25, 1997. The Sunset was my answer from God on a very difficult decision that had to be made. My Grandson Jerimie and I saw the Sunset together. It means a lot to the Family.
Thank You God for Your Answer.
